Hi, Welcome to my first post and my website!
I have created this website mainly for the blog, which I will use to showcase what I have been up to recently regarding my career and some other interests. The other reason is for recruiters to be able to access my up-to-date information and resume.
This will be my last year studying at university, which includes a capstone unit. This capstone unit is a group project, which can be hosted by an industry partner. I’m hoping that I will be able to be placed in an industry project as I believe that is where I will gain the most value. Either way, I will need to revise previously learnt topics before semester starts – including Git and the agile development methodology so that I can get off to a good start. I also need to prepare for a unit (or start it early) as I have heard the first few weeks are quite difficult.
I have only recently created my resume, which contains my first 2 programming projects on my GitHub. These projects are simply a re-creation of a couple of the group projects I completed during a recent unit, which so far, I would say is the most practical unit I have done, as I was taught to create apps in the .NET environment. The first app is a simple chat app, allowing the user to join the main lobby and chat with other users. During the unit, this app also had the option to create & join lobbies, to direct message other users and to upload/download text and image files. The other is a simple web API for a banking application. This project in the unit also included a front-end component. I will expand upon these projects, but currently, I need to prepare for the upcoming semester.
During this year, I hope to expand my skillset into front-end development, as my education currently consists of fundamentals and back-end development. I want to learn HTML, CSS and Javascript, and maybe even a bit of React if I can, if I have the time.
